Otpr Group is a South African group of companies that specialise in the production of waste-derived fuels from rubber and plastic feedstocks by means of an innovative pyrolysis process. We believe in providing solutions that develop and sustain communities by reducing waste and deploying economic benefits where it counts.
Our story.
Otpr exists to make a significant impact in the reduction of tyre and plastic waste that pollute our planet and destroy our ecosystems. We have refined existing pyrolysis technology to the point where the process is clean and safe for all and where the products are of superior quality and market value. With its multiple applications we aim to lead the world into a new age of sustainability.

Manufacturing Division operating under design and intellectual property to produce and install industrial pyrolysis systems.
Responsible for staffing of facilities, plant operations and the maintenance of site technology and infrastructure.
Processing Division responsible for the upscaling of fuel and synthetic gas to fuel and chemical products.

International expansion and implementation.
Responsible for the continuous improvement of existing technology as and the advancement of product beneficiation. This division also investigates global challenges and collaborates with tertiary institutions and international stakeholders in the development of technologies with industrial solutions to combat environmental pollution and degradation.
History.
From humble beginnings in the town of Grabouw in the Western Cape Province of South Africa, Otpr entered the global waste treatment market by advancing the pyrolysis process. Otpr’s Industrial Pyrolysis Technology is the brainchild of André De Kock, who has been developing and advancing the hardware component since 2014. In 2016, Specialist Environmental Networking Solutions (Pty) Ltd and their Network of specialists joined the Otpr team to refine and integrate the technology into the current modular industrial application sets, to be compliant with environmental standards and regulations. Our association with tertiary institutions and the National Cleaner Production Centre under the CSIR, places us on the forefront of cutting-edge technological development.
Meet Dr Zulu Xaba.
Executive Director - Finance & Risk
Zulu holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley and has completed the Executive Development Programme at the University of the Wits Business School. He has over 20 years of experience in working in the financial sector, covering a range of enterprises, from a financial derivatives exchange (SAFEX – Senior Risk Manager), treasury of a large vertically-integrated utility company (Eskom – Consultant/Risk Assessment Manager) and asset management industry (Public Investment Corporation – Chief Risk Officer). He has extensive experience in enterprise risk management, review and appraisal of investment proposals.
Health & Safety.
Otpr is a dynamic company that endeavours create the healthiest possible environment for employees in accordance with the strictest of EHS standards. The robustness of our technology and the design of our facilities are geared towards the achievement of this objective. The legal framework underpinning our design specifications is intended to comply with the industrial waste and emissions standards for each country, state / local government. Otpr on-board monitoring, reporting and auditing systems ensure that early warning systems are in place and that operations are ISO compliant.
